Friday Night Sewing Circle
We are returning to the format we have followed for many years by picking a skill or theme.  Everyone may choose their own project within that parameter and create their own individual quilt.  This year we will concentrate on curved piecing and, in particular, patterns from Elisa’s Back Porch. Learn to sew smooth curves for several different block styles and sizes and combine them for a unique project.  Ask or click here for supply list. *Sewing machine optional. 10 sessions, $100

Effervecence by Marlous Designs is the choice for our next popular Madness class.  We provide the pre-cut fabric, dinner, drinks and snacks.  All you have to do is sew and it’s really easy to do.  It’s a great project for beginning students who want to perfect their skills. Midnight Madness March 2012

This exciting new club features patterns from one of our favorites, Atkinson Designs, and will feature lots of wonderful, easy projects for you, your home, kids and grandkids. We’ll hang the model for each class in the shop and online. If you are in class, you’ll see the next project at that time. We’re going to have a blast, so come join us. Civil War Chronicles
Block of the Month

This BOM by Judie Rothermel tells the stories of twelve women who encountered their own struggles, and pays tribute to the women behind the scenes on both sides of the conflict.  Each block represents the wife of one of the generals and includes pattern, fabric kit and historical background.  All of the “bugs” in the previous series have been solved and we will make sure to work through all the details in class. Winter Quilt-In

Spend some time sewing with friends and completing projects that just need a little more attention.   You’ll have a lot of fun and accomplish some good work at the same time.  Bring a project(s) from home or make the optional class project.  Instructor will teach from 10am-2pm, but students may stay and sew until 1/2 an hour before the shop closes if you choose.  Limited to 10 students.  Ask for supply list.  Bring bag lunch.  3 sessions, $110

*NEW*Color Mastery I
Our newly revised and comprehensive color class will focus on a set of color “plans” for making and designing quilts. Students will make mock-ups in class and be encouraged to complete an exercise between sessions. Each class will begin with a review and discussion of these exercises, and then proceed with the next set. Quilts pertaining to class topics will be shown in all sessions. Kay's Klub

For years, students have gathered at the QP on Thursdays to take a series of classes with Kay Lettau.  What started as a Block of the Month has morphed into a variety of formats, but the group has stayed true.  We are happy to continue the Thursday tradition whose group dynamics have grown and changed and created lifetime friendships.   Join in and be part of the fun. The specific class offerings will now be listed below the heading of Kay’s Klub.

This is another terrific Block of the Month from Marti Michell . Art Quilt Study Group Series

This group of classes is dedicated to everyone who has an interest in the composition and construction of art quilts.  You do not have to be an "art quilter" to join, just curiosity and a willingness to experiment with new techniques and materials.  The classes are sequential, but the numbers do not designate skill level.  Please come, have fun, and challenge yourself to explore some new ideas.

 

Art Quilt 202
Continue the momentum as you explore your personal style and potential and participate in exercises designed to help you stretch as an artist. This is a continuation of Art Quilt 201, which is a pre-requisite for this class. Click here for supply list. 4 sessions, $60.
